I need to change a filter on an existing publication and need to change the
value of @.join_unique_key to 0 from 1. I can't find any documented way of
doing this, is there any way to do this? Thanks, Scott
use sp_helpmergearticle to get the filter name. Then use
sp_changemergefilter to change this option. Here is an example
sp_changemergefilter @.publication = 'pubs',@.article =
'titleauthor',@.filtername = 'titleauthor_authors', @.property
'join_unique_key', @.value = 'true', @.force_invalidate_snapshot=1,
@.force_reinit_subscription =1

Changing the ODBC default time out without program changes
Hello
This may have been asked before, but I can't seem to find it.
I believe the default ODBC time out is 30 seconds. I know that you can
override that by changing your application call. Can it be overridden
without making program changes? Perhaps through a registry setting (though I
can't find that)? Some sort of config file? A funky entry in a mysterious
ini file?
Thank you!
Steve
If you are using a DSN or a external file you can change that without
changing yout code, if you hardcoded that therte is no way changing it
without recoding and compiling it.
SO what did you do ?

Nothing. The application is just timing out. Please tell me how.

changing data source on deploy?
We developed all our reports (a bunch of them) using our development server
named "development" which is not a local server... meaning we cant set our
connection string to localhost when we make them... but then we need to
deploy them to our Live server which then can be localhost as they will only
run on that server... how can we change the connection string's server upon
deployment? also we need to change the traget server to the live one instead
of development... can this be scripted or do we have to change the
connection string manually each and every time we make a change on
development and redeploy to the live server? thanks! The default when deploying is to not overwrite data sources. That means you
only have to change things the first time you deploy to production, after
that you are good to go. No more changes necessary.
As far as target server, in VS you pick the solution configuration, each
solution configuration has its own target server. So you just select the
configuration you want that is appropriate and then deploy to it.

Changing data directory
How to change data directory for all databeses including system ones
(master, temdb etc.)
Can't do it by update sysfiles because (I can't figure why) this object
cannot be modified -
Regards
Piotr
Inidivisual database names can be changed via detaching and attaching,
chaging the path of the system databases needs a registry hack for that,
because the service will start them.
