Changing sql enterprise to sql standard edition.

Hi, now we have a server that is running in sql server2000 enterprise
edition. For licenses problems we need to desinstall this edition and
install the standard edition.
Do somebody know if there is a problem in attach the databases that were
created in the enterprise edition on the new standard edition server'
What do you recommend to me to do this migration?

esoteric Distributed Partitioned Views or some such, you should run into any
problems.
Take a look at the product features of both editions to see if any of these
match thing you've been doing.
Also consider that if you had purchased Developer Edition to build your
systems, you would have been using Enterprise Edition and it would have been
likely that many users have deployed such systems to production level
Standard Edition. The only difference between DE and EE is the EULA.

Changing number of per processor licenses

I want to change the number of licenses from 2 to 1 so I can use one license
on another machine. To accomplish this, do I need to physically remove the
CPU or I can unselect 1 processor from the Processor Tab of properties sheet
.You would violate license agreement by only unselecting one processor from E
M's config dialog. The
license terms states you need one proc license per processor that the OS can
use. So either disable
one processor in BIOS (if possible) or remove it.

Changing Licenses

We have a situation where we need to change instances from CAL to Proc on
Enterprise Edition instances. If we purchase the Proc licenses without
actually making the conversion, will this be a problem? Or do we need to
physically convert the license? I understand it is an honor system, but I
want to make sure that we have properly reported our licenses and done them
correctly. I also was told that in order to convert the licenses we had to
reinstall the instance. Is this true?

According to my opinion there is nothing you are gonna do about this license
changing thing. You just need your new license.
However, I encourage you to consult an authorized vendor to be sure and to
know about the process of this transition.
