Changing SubNet Mask in Virtual SQL server

Hi,
Due to re-engineering of our Network infrastructure, we need to change the
SubNet Mask Properties in the SQL Virtual IP resource. We are using SQL 7.0
clustered on 2 Active & Passive nodes. The SubNet masks and Gateway of the 2
nodes also required to be changed. IP address remain the same.
Can anyone advise if I required to unclustered the SQL to change the SubNet
Mask or What is the proper procedure to do this exercise. This is a
production system and downtime has to be minimised. Pls advise asap.

Changing IP of SQL virtual server

Check out KB 244980. There appears to be an error near the bottom where it
talks about changing the subnet mask. After step 10, it says "To make sure
that the SQL server IP address is changed, follow these steps:
a. Check the registry on both nodes for the key that is mentioned in step
11."
I cannot find step 11 anywhere on the page, nor can I find any reference to
a registry key.
Does anyone know this key I should check?

I'd guess the registry key it's referring to is
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft SQL Server\/<instancename>/\Cluster
but that's just a guess (that's where the IP address & network name for
the cluster group resources for the virtual server are stored in the
registry).

Changing IP Addresses of a cluster

I will be relocating a SQL 2000 cluster onto a new subnet of a corporate network and will need to change the 'public' IP address of the cluster nodes as well as the virtual IP address. In doing this, I want to make sure that I have the proper process dow
n correctly.
1. Change the IP addresses of each node as referenced in KB 230356
2. Change the IP addresses of the virtual cluster as referenced in KB 244980
Is this correct? Am I missing anything?

Replace IP ONLY and ONLY through SQL setup with remove option

Dave, did this work out smoothly? I'll have to do the exact same thing. Did it work after changing node IPs then using SQL setup to change the virtual SQL server IP?
