Changing owner of a subscription

We are currently running RS 2000 SP1
We had a contractor in who setup a subscription to a report using a
temporary AD account. He is therefore listed as the "owner" of the
subscription. His account has now been disabled in AD and I'm unable to
change anything in the subscription!
If I attempt to change the properties of the subscription via the website I
get an error message stating that the user or group is not found,
furthermore, the subscription isn't running, I assume for the same reason (I
haven't gone looking through the logs yet).
Is there a way to update the subscription short of updating the
Subscriptions table in the database with a new owner ID from the User table?
If that is the only way, has anyone done it sucessfully?
Thanks,
BillIf you are the administrator of the machine, then in the Properties/Security,
add BUILTIN\Administrators as Content Manager; you should be able to manage
any subscriptions. Let me know if this will work or not.

not the issue.
I've already given up and deleted and re-created the subscription in question.

Just so you know for the future, it does work if you update the
subscriptions table with a new OwnerID.
We had the same thing happen to us when one of our divisional
administrators left the company. All of her subscriptions stopped when
her AD profile was deactivated. To alleviate the possibility of this
happening again we created a job on the server that periodically
updates OwnerIDs in the subscriptions table to the ID of the AD group
that includes all the divisional admins. Chances are someone from the
group will always be around since we update that group with any comings
and goings.
